Brendan Berkley

I like to make things and solve problems. My favorite things to work on are identities, front-end Web stuff, and typography.

As an in-house guy, I have to be the jack of all trades. I clean up photos. I make InDesign scripts to streamline our workflow. I help (as a part of a great team) to dream up and implement logos, identities, websites, print ads, broadcast e-mails, and more. I code (with varying degrees of success) in VBScript, PHP, C#, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery. Dabbled in Rails a bit too!

I graduated from Greater Latrobe High School in Latrobe, PA and went to the other side of Pittsburgh to attend Robert Morris University. I graduated with a BFA in Media Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design.

To fulfill a graduation requirement, I took an internship at USG Insurance Services. When they were ready to hire a full-time designer, I was at the top of their list. So in the November after my graduation, I walked out of IHOP for the last time as an employee and started my professional career. I worked for USG from November 2009 to January 2014.

In January 2014, a friend from college asked me to work full-time with him. I had done contract work in the past, and he wanted to take things to the next level. We worked it out, and now I am working for Burke Software! It’s an exciting opportunity.

When I can, I like to spend time on Stack Exchange’s Graphic design site, so I can be inspired by experts and help those who are new to the craft. Check out the site and my user profile.
